About Us

Scottish Wholesale Association

The Scottish Wholesale Association (SWA) is the official trade body for Scotland’s food and drink wholesaling industry. SWA members are ‘the wheels to Scotland’s food and drink industry’, supplying products to over 5,000 independent convenience stores, 30,000 catering, hospitality, tourism and leisure businesses, and the majority of public sector establishments across Scotland.

We champion and support Scotland’s food and drink wholesale sector by creating opportunities that help grow our member’s businesses and the industry as a whole; we provide a voice for our sector within Scottish Government, the trade and public domain; help connect members across different industry networks; and provide advice and training.

The Directory

This wholesale directory has been created to help local and regional producers, or customers, connect with SWA wholesale members across Scotland, allowing you to search for wholesalers that best fit your needs or product offering.

The directory is part of our wider work, with SAOS and Scotland Food and Drink, to help increase collaboration; develop wholesale as a primary route to market for all producers; improve ways of working in the sector; and overall to create a stronger and more sustainable Scottish food and drink supply chain.

Delivering Growth Through Wholesale Programme (DGTW)

Delivering Growth Through Wholesale is a local supply chain partnership training and education programme delivered by the Scottish Wholesale Association, designed in conjunction with SAOS and supported by Scotland Food and Drink and the Scottish Government.

Launched in 2021, its aim is to educate and engage producers on the opportunities of wholesale and provide each of them with a one-to-one mentoring support session to ensure their business is wholesale ready.

Wholesale Local Food Champion Training (WLFC)

Complimenting the Delivering Growth Through Wholesale producer training, and with funding support from the Scottish Government, the Scottish Wholesale Association has launched a Wholesale Local Food Champion training programme.

The programme will initially train 40 wholesale employees who will champion local food opportunities within their wholesale business, be an initial point of contact for local producers, share their knowledge with peers and colleagues, and promote the benefits of the Delivering Growth Through Wholesale programme with their producers.
